Annual report 2024
As an educational institution for environmental training, Lipka is one of the oldest and largest organizations in the Czech Republic to focus on public environmental education. We offer environmental educational programmes, afternoon courses, weekend trips, summer camps and public events for both families with children and adults. We also focus on teaching environmental subjects at universities and promote the systematic training of educators. Lipka strives to be a refuge for perceptive children and adults who are interested in the future development of the environment and who are willing to play an active role in making the world a better place. Here’s what we accomplished in 2024.
Educational Programmes
Every school day morning, our facilities come alive with environmental education programmes designed for nurseries, primary, and secondary schools.
In 2024, Lipka delivered 1,162 of these programmes, attended by over 23,700 pupils. Altogether, that’s more than 6,000 hours spent exploring nature, sustainability, and our shared responsibility for the world around us.
Afternoon Courses and Weekend Activities
In the afternoons, our facilities and gardens are filled with children attending science and art courses, as well as adults enjoying their handicraft courses. In total, 35 afternoon clubs brought together 560 regular members.
Seven weekend clubs added another 31 events, with 415 nature enthusiasts joining in. During these trips into nature, we experience various adventures with children, learn how to behave responsibly in nature, and sometimes even take part in its protection.
Camps
Holidays at Lipka are full of adventure. We organized 24 residential camps spread across 173 days, attended by 628 children who immersed themselves in nature and discovery.
Alongside these, 45 day camps offered summer and seasonal programmes to 952 children, with a total of 219 days spent learning through play and exploration.
Events for the Public
Throughout the year, people of all ages visit Lipka to join in our public events — from seasonal celebrations to creative workshops and excursions in nature. In 2024, we organized 98 such events, drawing in 6,659 participants from across the region.
Training for Educators
Through seminars, excursions, conferences, and long-term support for current topics and methodological approaches in schools, Lipka contributes to positive change in Czech education.
In 2024, we ran 107 professional development events for educators, involving 2,219 participants and 869 hours of training. These seminars and workshops help teachers bring environmental education to life in their own classrooms.
University Teaching
Lipka plays an active role in university education, too. In cooperation with four universities, we delivered 20 courses in environmental topics, with a total of 333 teaching hours and 1,489 students attending. Our facilities also serve as a training ground for future educators and trainees interested in gaining hands-on experience.
