Climate Education in Practice: From Learning to Empowerment

The course invites teachers and educators to explore how climate education can be made practical, meaningful, and inspiring. Through outdoor learning, inquiry-based methods and student-led projects, we will explore how to bring climate topics to life across subjects and real-world contexts.

During the course you will:

• explore why and how to teach about climate change in an empowering, practical and interdisciplinary way

• use relatable, real-life topics as starting points for teaching climate change

• try playful and inquiry-based activities that connect science, daily life and climate systems

• dive into student-led approaches to climate action, including project-based learning, entrepreneurship and real-world problem solving

• experience practical lessons focused on adaptation, mitigation and student agency

• visit educational gardens, inspiring schools and local organisations putting climate education into everyday practice

• connect with international educators and bring home fresh inspiration

Target group:

This course is designed for primary and secondary school teachers, environmental education practitioners, adult educators, and anyone in formal and non-formal education interested in the course field.
